Social media is buzzing with AI Data Centre’s moving to Malaysia. This may be true for the big companies with buildings full of lawyers and someone else’s cash to burn.

Does this translate to a boom in IT services in Malaysia? Absolutely not. There are a number of factors that needs to be considered such as power generation capacity that would suggest forward planning by the Malaysian government, Flexible planning permission that again points to a forward thinking dynamic government and long term security that points to a stable Malaysian government. The media and government misinterprets RFQ and scoping documents as firm intentions disregarding the known fact that the same documents have been sent to neighbours such as Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and others. Last week Apple announced RDMA over Thunderbolt support in macOS 26.2. this increases tokens per second by a huge factor and dramatically reduces latency by a huge factor as well. Jeff Geerling published this article that explains the process. The software used is called EXO and is open source. It is not going to take webAI long to implement RDMA over Thunderbolt which will make our investment in Apple technology for AI inferencing even more relevant.

Although somewhat successful we were not in control and secondly the land owner was not a partner.

Ecoladang Micro Farms is about to reregister as a BumiPutera company and we will then qualify for a number of very interesting and exciting grants to grow the business rapidly. The new board is stacked with top Malaysian Green Energy experts that have farming in their DNA and who cares deeply for the Malay community.

Think of Ecoladang Micro Farms (EMF) as an Umbrella Co-Operative Franchise model. EMF negotiates with Land owners through the grants systems such as Cradle CIP Spark, MDEC MDAG-AI and the Perak Green Tech Fund, not forgetting the opportunities Negeri Sembilan, for space to install a number of Micro Farms to grow local businesses with a view to diversify farming and provide new streams of revenue.
